Within this 3-Day Movement Principle Course (30 hrs) Gina will explore several key movement principles relating to the position of the pelvis and how it effects hip strength and stability in yoga asana.

Refine your personal practice and continue your advanced education pathway with Power Living. Based on Movement Principles from SmartFLOW by Annie Carpenter. Discover greater stability, strength, freedom and health in your pelvis, sacroiliac joint and lower back. Develop key tenants of the practice and understand the therapeutic potential.

Day 1 (10 Hours)


Morning Workshop (2 Hours) -

Hip stability and mobility. Explore a variety of essential and progressive postures in this fun workshop that will specifically help you to open and stabilize your hips, inner thighs, care for your sacroiliac joint and lower back to support your practice.


Teacher Training (Remainder of day 1) - Introduction to movement principles. Learn the planes of movement and how to apply this to understanding asanas. Includes fun games to cement your knowledge. A closer look at anatomical understanding of the pelvis, sacroiliac joint and lower back Explore movement principles to promote strength, stability and freedom in your pelvis, sacroiliac joint and lower back. Covering effective cueing, creative development of language and teaching skills Posture breakdown. How to decode an asana, refine your “teaching eye” to be a more effective teacher, supporting your own practice development and your students. Also covering wise prop use, partner work and wall work Philosophy lecture and discussion Traditional pranayama study and practice


Day 2 (10 Hours)


Morning Workshop (2 hours) -

Happy Healthy Hammy’s & lower back. If you experience discomfort in the back of your pelvis, lower back or hamstrings this will be a game changer for you! A joyous exploration and fundamentally important workshop to integrate and understand how to care for your sacroiliac joint, hips and lower back, when you’re targeting your hamstrings in poses such as standing postures, twisting postures and forward folds, Thrive with new found stability, length and freedom.


Teacher Training (Remainder of day 2) - Anatomy: A closer look at the pelvis, sacroiliac joint and lower back progressing from Friday's session Explore movement principles covered in the morning practice and how to apply them to asanas, sequencing, cueing and effective teaching skills Posture breakdown. How to decode an asana, refine your “teaching eye” to be a more effective teacher, supporting your own practice development and your students. Also covering wise prop use and wall work Philosophy lecture and discussion Traditional pranayama study and practice

Day 3 (10 Hours)


Morning Workshop (2 Hours) -

Experience the therapeutics of twisting in a whole new light! Find freedom and stability as we explore a landscape twisting postures, encouraging greater spinal health and core stability so you feel strong, long and free! This will give you the keys to refining your practice in an intelligent and mindful way.


Teacher Training (Remainder of day 3) -

Understanding the building blocks of intelligent sequencing. Anatomy: A closer look at the spine and pelvis relationship in twists Explore movement principles to support the health of your spine, sacroiliac joint and lower back in twisting postures. Covering effective cueing, creative development of language and teaching skills Posture breakdown continued. How to decode backbends, refine your “teaching eye” to be a more effective teacher, supporting your own practice development and your students. Also covering wise prop use and wall work Philosophy lecture and discussion Traditional pranayama study and practice

Gina Brescianini Bio


Gina Brescianini was a soloist with The Australian Ballet for 10 years and has been fortunate enough to perform all over Australia and the world, in traditional and contemporary ballets. Gina started practicing Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan in 2001, perfect for supporting her busy ballet life. She was practicing, learning and studying at every spare moment, completing her teacher training in New Mexico in 2010.


Since then Gina has completed a 1,000hr mentorship with Duncan Peak, has undertaken rigorous long-term study and mentorship with Annie Carpenter in SmartFLOW yoga, along with studying under Maty Ezraty, Simon Park and Sarah Powers. Gina is also a Classical Ballet Teacher and Pilates teacher.Gina is a Lead Teacher Trainer at Power Living in charge of our 200hr and 500hr Teacher Training Programs, alongside being a lead facilitator and Performance Coach.Gina is full of passion and joy to share her love of yoga, pranayama and meditation with the community at Power Living and beyond.
